Visit to Mekong River

Sleeping

How could i resist the warm bath they prepared for me?
Even at 7 in the morning.
Bubble Bath

In our Peace Tour sightseeing bus around 8am.

Here's me with daddy's friend, Encik Pisul. Hysterical

After a 2 hour bus ride, we arrived at Mekong Delta.

From here, we took a motorboat ride to a small island.

I still remember my first boat ride when i was in Hong Kong..how fascinated i was with all the tanglong hanging over the boat. My 2nd boat ride was at Kampong Ayer in Brunei when we took Nini's friends sightseeing and this is my 3rd boat ride and i slept all the way to the island..hehe..

We visited a coconut-candy-making factory.

Stilt houses made of coconut trees

Got myself Vietnam conical hat

Enjoying some tasty fruit.

Listening to local music.

We continued the walk further down, and then we mounted on a small rowboat or sampan and we sailed through the narrow channels of Mekong River. We had 2 people rowing us all the way out into the sea (1 rower at each end of the boat), where our boat would be anchored and waiting for us there. Being in these narrow canals, with tall swampy grasses and plants all around us, riding along with our Vietnamese hats was truly an amazing experience.

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Yea we actually DID sing this nursery rhyme. Other tourists smiled and wavedHello as their sampan passes us...We were going really slow...See Nenek rowing?? The woman in black & white sitting in front of mummy.Burst Laughing Oh and can u see my stroller?? The one in front of Nenek...hahaha...Now that is something. Hysterical Luckily a Vietnamese guy was assigned to take care of my stroller.

We then went to another island, where we had the opportunity

to feed crocodiles and tease them too..

Bruneian lady carrying a Bruneian kid..hehe

“Don Ganh” - two baskets slung from each end of a wooden or bamboo pole

We had seafood lunch at The Waterfront Restaurant, where we tried the local Vietnamese delicacy known as Elephant Fish...Not bad..

Heading back to the boat
